A practical guide to every travel document you need when visiting Cameroon — passport requirements, visa documentation, yellow fever certificates, insurance, and documents for children.
Every international traveller to Cameroon needs to ensure documentation is in order before departure. Requirements vary by nationality, but certain documents are universally required. Here is your complete checklist.
Passport
Valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date. Ensure at least two clear pages for entry and exit stamps.
Visa
Most visitors require a Cameroonian visa obtained in advance. Carry your visa approval letter and payment confirmation alongside your passport. Global Bush Travel provides embassy-ready reservations for all visa applications.
Yellow Fever Certificate
A valid International Certificate of Vaccination (ICVP) showing yellow fever vaccination is mandatory — no exceptions. Must show vaccination at least 10 days before arrival for first-time vaccinations. Travellers without this document may be refused entry.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation cover is strongly recommended. Carry your policy details and emergency contact number. Some visa applications require evidence of insurance.
Hotel and Flight Confirmations
Proof of accommodation and return/onward flight is required for visa applications and may be requested at the border. Global Bush Travel's embassy-ready reservations satisfy both requirements.
For Children
Children travelling with one parent or non-parent guardians may require additional documentation including notarised consent letters from absent parents and birth certificates. Requirements vary by nationality — verify in advance.
