  • Day 01: Douala

    Arrive at Douala International airport, received by Global Bush representative, transfer for check into Hotel Bano for dinner and overnight.

    Days 02:  Douala – South West (Mt Kupe)

    After breakfast, pick-up for drive to South West Region where we shall go through agricultural lands to the base of Mt Kupe for three nights at the village of Nyasoso in tents. Mt. Kupe and the close-by Bokossi Mountains are covered mostly in pristine forest, the latter on more gentle slopes and only recently explored. The area holds some of West Africa's most wanted birds, many of which are listed as endangered and threatened. Those which will be high on the list of wanted species include White-throated Mountain Babbler, Mt. Kupe, Green-breasted and Montiero's Bush-shrikes, Ursula's Sunbird and Bate's Weaver. Other species we will search for are Cassin's Hawk-eagle, Pied and White-crested Hornbills, Naked-faced, Bristle-nosed, Yellow-spotted and Yellow-billed Barbets, Brown-eared, Gabon and Elliot's Woodpecker, Sabine's Spinetail, Forest Swallow and Square-tailed saw-wing, Black-throated and Black-capped Apalis, Tit and Green Hylia, Black Bee-eater, Bare-cheeked and Bar-tailed Trogon, a host of greenbuls, warblers and flycatchers and many more weavers, twinspots, negroficnhes and waxbills. The area is home to 14 species of primates and we might encounter Drill and Chimpanzee in the deep forest. (BLD)

    Day 03:  Mount Kupe – Mundemba

    We'll take our time driving to Mundemba, from where we will access the legendary Korup National Park. Roadside birding can be very productive, and we'll make numerous stops. We may see our first Spotted Greenbul, White-thighed or Piping hornbills, Black-headed Waxbill or Long-legged Pipit, night in Mundemba. (BLD)

    Day 04 - 05:  Mundemba - Korup National Park.

    We have 2 full days to explore the lowlands of Korup National Park. This vast wilderness area offers an excellent chance for Red-headed Picathartes, which will be our main target species, and we will have to spend one night Camped deep in the forest in order to be at the cave where these birds roost in the evening and early morning. We will also see numerous species of greenbuls and other forest Green-tailed and Common bristlebills, Black-capped and Pale-breasted Illadopsises and the diminutive Forest Robin. Other highlights may include Blue Cuckooshrike, Black-casqued, Yellow-casqued and Red-billed Dwarf hornbills, Bare-cheeked Trogon and Blue-headed Wood Dove, nights in Camp (BLD).

    Day 06: Korup National Park – Buea (Mount Cameroon).

    After some early morning birding we transfer to the town of Buea, at the foot of Mount Cameroon. The better part of the afternoon and most of the next day will be spent on the mountain and we hope to find several of the mountains endemic specials, although for this will entail a lot of stiff climbing if we are to get the Mount Cameroon Speirops, or have a slight chance of the Mount Cameroon Francolin. But other species may include the endemic Little Oliveback, Cameroon Olive and Western Montane greenbuls, and Cameroon Mountain Robin, dinner and night in Buea.

    Day 07 - 08: Buea - Yaoundé – Ebogo Ecotourism Site

    Early morning after breakfast, drive to Douala and continue to Senaga River at Edea where we should fin Grey Pratincoles and African skimmers, later we drive to Yaounde and continue visit to Ebogo a magical site located in a quiet green of the rainforest that offers visitors various attractions, including canoe rides on the river Nyong, the discovery of the "Big 300 year old Tree" about 12 meters in diameter, the capture a variety of butterflies, traditional fishing of various species of fish breeding tortoises in the succulent flesh, trekking in the forest on the nature trail, a vision of wild birds including parrots grouped up in an island; later in the evening return to hotel for dinner and night.

    Day 09: Yaoundé – Kribi - Pygmies Village

    Breakfast; departure to Kribi, upon arrival visit of the turtles’ museum and continue to the pygmy’s village where you will take part in the daily life activities of the pygmies, forest people living in harmony with nature, food gathering, folklore, dancing etc. it is also an opportunity to discover a people who undergo changes but remain faithful to their ancestors, dinner and overnight in tents and/ or in the house of a resident.

    Day 10: Pygmies Village – Lobe Falls – Beach

    Breakfast: departure for kribi via the Lobe waterfalls (the only place in the world where a waterfall enters the Atlantic Ocean through a water Cascade), continue to kribi and visit one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with fine and golden sand that will provide you with smooth and pleasing feelings, leisure activities on the beach, return to hotel Ilumba for dinner and night.

    Day 11: Kribi - Douala

    After breakfast, relax, swim and lounge on the White sands of this quiet beach, depart later in the afternoon for Douala. Visit the Douala seaport, the train station of Bessingue, the Liberty statute, the flower and artifacts center for purchase of Cameroonian souvenirs. This is because before going home many people like buying souvenirs and in Cameroon you can find really nice artistic pieces, Masks, bags, bronze statuettes, games and all kinds of different interesting things will be available. Later in the evening depart for the Douala International Airport, departure formalities, farewell greetings take off and end of Tour.

  • Day 01: Douala

    Day 02 - 04: Douala – Limbe – Bimbia

    Breakfast; depart via Limbe to Bimbia, trek in the Dikolo primary forest and the mangroves, on the site observing and photographing of butterflies, Dinner and night in Limbe. (B, L, D)

    Day 05 - 08: Bimbia - mount Cameroon

    Breakfast; drive to Buea upon arrival continue for a 3days Mount Cameroon (with many butterfly species included endemic like Charaxes musakensis) trek in forest and savannah, photographing and studying butterflies, dinner and night in Tents. (B, L, D)

    Day 09 – 12:  Mount Cameroon - Nyasoso

    Breakfast, drive to Nyasoso still in the South West region for 4days trekking into the rainforest for butterfly observations, studies and photographing, dinner and night in Nyasoso. (B, L, D)

    Day 13 - 16: Nya Soso – Korup National Park

    Breakfast; depart for Korup National Park which is reputedly one of the richest lowland African forests in terms of faunal richness and diversity, especially for birds and butterflies, we shall be there for the last 3days, dinners and nights in the camp. (B, L, D)

    Days 17: Korup – Douala

    Breakfast, drive back to Douala dinner and night. (B, L, D)

    Days 18: Douala

    Breakfast; depart to Douala International Airport for departure flight. (B, L, D)
