Cameroon Yaounde: PM chairs conference on Sports and Tourism
The theme for reflection for the conference is “Women, Sports and Tourism: Women Sporting Events and the Promotion of African Destinations”.
During the opening ceremony, the visiting Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Taleb D. Rifai pledged his organisation’s willingness to support African Governments that use sports and other related events to promote tourism.
As the conference begins, participants are all agreed that a greater participation of women in sports is an important factor in the development of inclusive tourism.
The conference is an initiative of the Government of Cameroon and the World Tourism Organisation.
