Angola, officially known as the Republic of Angola is a country in Southern Africa bordered by Namibia on the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo on the north, and Zambia on the east; its west coast is on the Atlantic Ocean and Luanda is its capital city. Angola is re-emerging from decades of civil war, and adventurous travelers are beginning to tentatively discover its Portuguese architecture, miles of stunning coastline and little-visited wildlife parks. It is characterized of thick forests, elevated plains and forceful rivers defining the country’s landscape – along with the sands of the Namibia desert. Visitors can search for African wildlife, including the black palanca antelope, a species unique to Angola.
